Las Vegas is packed full of dozens of shows to see on any given night, ranging from family fun to shows of an adult-themed nature. However, going indoors to sit during a show isn't everyone's cup of tea. Some like to be out and about while on vacation, and this is where the Haunted Vegas Tour and Séance can really do the trick.
Instead of buying a pricy ticket and packing into an auditorium, the Haunted Vegas Tour takes you on a tour of the city. Except, of course, these aren't just any regular locations you're visiting. These locations are supposedly haunted.
With American hit TV shows dealing with the paranormal like Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures and Paranormal State, ghost-lust is at an all-time high. Outside of the usual bright-light appeal of Vegas lays a dark, dreary desert. Ghost fanatics claim this is a prime location for other-worldly activity.
Guests are taken around the city to various locations where ghosts are said to be roaming the area, trapped in limbo. Whether it's real or not is to be determined by the person attending, but enough people-skeptics and believers-are enthused enough to take the tour.
The tour was created by Robert Allen to give tourists something a bit more spine-tingling than your run-of-the-mill Cirque expose. The night begins with a tour around the city and ends with a séance conducted to try to awaken dormant spirits.
Along the way, you'll also learn a lot of history about Vegas, how it was built and who gave up their lives to see the dream through. You'll visit former stomping grounds of famed mobster Bugsy Siegel, entertainment icons Liberace and Elvis Presley, and even one of the greatest comedians of all time, Redd Foxx.
Robert Allen has long studied the paranormal side of many areas, including Las Vegas. He didn't plan this show to simply be some whimsical ride around Vegas with the occasional white sheet popping out at you accompanied by spooky sounds. Instead, he consulted with experts in the field of the paranormal, including Tim Cridland, a paranormal historian, and Janice Oberding, the author of the acclaimed book Haunted Nevada. In total, the team has found a list of over 20 locations that some witnesses report are rife with paranormal activity. They have all been well documented.
One of the most popular stops along the way is the Motel of Death. This is where many celebrity deaths have taken place over the years, and rumors are floating around about their ghosts still walking the halls in search of closure. You'll also visit the supposed haunted Green Valley Park, a murder site, and the evening will end with a spooky séance delivered in Liberace's old dressing room.
Of course, it's still technically a "show," so there are some sights and sounds added in to increase the experience you have. The tour guide's name is Jack and, as you might suspect, he plays a very clichéd role: retired mortician. The tour bus is plush and comfortable and one low price takes you all the way around Vegas.
